How did Bun Sokunthea get a job at ANZ Royal Bank?
The Global Leaders Program (GLP) is a 3-month leadership development program for undergraduate students. The objective of the program is to empower Cambodia to develop itself by activating thousands of youth business leaders. We are reducing youth unemployment by giving youth the real skills and competencies that they actually need to get a job or become successful entrepreneurs.
Split into 3 stages that total over 3 months of learning for just $10, over 500 youth have engaged our program. Most importantly, we continue to grow rapidly and are on track to achieve our goal of mobilizing thousands of youth leaders.
Global Leaders Program has proved itself to be a highly relevant product among the students and organizations across different sectors. This year the program is taking a big step forward, increasing the quality of the content and participants into a new level. The program will be divided into two cycles this year: March-June cycle and October-December cycle, involving around 500 students each. The flow of the program will look as following:
Stage 1: Youth Leadership Conference. World-class leadership conference for the students to activate their leadership potential through sessions such as communications, teamwork, leadership, activating high-performance and project management. This is delivered by the AIESEC training team over 2 days.
Stage 2: Social Business Plan Competition. We develop leaders by setting them leadership and entrepreneurship challenges. At the leadership tournament they must inspire their peers to support their idea to start a social business. The competition is split into 3 different rounds.
- Round 1 is to build a social business idea. Everybody gets into teams and has to build on the ground a business plan in 3 hours only. Best 15 teams then are eligible to pass to next round.
- Round 2 is a sales competition which runs over one month. Only 5 teams who sell the most get to last round.
- Round 3 is a challenge for the finalists to solve a case study and present it at Young Leaders Recruitment Fair.
Stage 3: Talent Connect. Now we help the youth leaders we have developed to mobilize positive changes in the community by connecting them to society. We basically prepare them for the Young Leaders Recruitment Fair where they can find jobs as well as network to find supporters for their social business ideas.
